Sacramento Valley Historical Railways is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to educating the public about railroads and railroad history and to the preservation and operation of historic railroad equipment and structures in Northern California. Sacramento Valley Historical Railways Announces Major Fund Drive The Sacramento Valley Historical Railways has a unique opportunity to greatly expand and improve its museum site located at the Historic Woodland Railroad Depot by removing the foundations of a granary that was once on the site. A Woodland contractor, Pedroia and Sons, has just given us a very favorable estimate to remove these unsightly foundations but we must act quickly if we are to take full advantage of this contractor’s generosity. The area to be improved is located between the present site of steam locomotive 1233 and Sixth Street. After removing a five story structure on this site, we have repeatedly sought bids for the removal of the extensive foundations that remained. Until now we have not been able to afford the estimated cost of removing these foundations. However, that has changed and with a favorable estimate and your gener-ous help, we can take a big step to improve the Historic Woodland Railroad Depot. This project will provide many benefits to the Historic Woodland Railroad Depot and to the Woodland community:
